Model 600

description

The Model CTC-600 hoof trimmer is one of Jake’s top hoof trimmers; the most efficient on-farm solution for trimming. The hoof trimming chute is used by dairy farmers and veterinarians around the world. Our engineers focused on three things in designing the hoof trimmer: creating a low-stress environment for the cows, ensuring ease of operation for the operator, and withstanding all types of animal behaviors.

The trimmer’s hydraulic functions include:
  • A cradle with double belly belts to support the cow during operation.
  • Foot motors, of which there are four (one for each leg) with a braking system, specifically to lift the hoof into position for operation.
  • Back entrance door, which opens up to allow the cow to enter.
  • Chute has an adjustable height of up to 20” which the operator can set to their preference.

The trimmer electric functions include:
  • Four LED lights to support working conditions.
  • Two 110-volt GFCI-protected receptacles on each side of the trimmer for operator trimming tools.
  • Single phase 230 Volt electrical supply.
  • Electric panel and electric motor evaluated to the requirements of the Model Code SPE 1000, and the applicable sections of the Canadian Electrical Code, part 1.

The trimmer’s mechanical functions include:
  • Side doors open so that veterinarians can perform surgery.
  • Front doors catch and release the cows.
  • Two holders on side doors for safe placement of trimming tools when not in use.
  • Adjustable hoof rest to support the hoof during operation.
  • Ergonomic interior design to hold the cow in the correct location.
  • Hot dipped galvanized steel frame.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions of the hoof trimming chute?

The overall dimensions of the hoof trimming chute are approximately 7’4″L x 4’3″W x 7’3″H.

A hoof trimming chute is a specialized piece of equipment used in the dairy industry for safely and efficiently trimming the hooves of cows. It helps restrain the animal and provides a secure environment for hoof maintenance.

Hoof trimming is essential for maintaining the health and well-being of livestock. Properly trimmed hooves prevent lameness, improve milk production, promote better weight distribution, and reduce the risk of foot injuries.

When selecting a hoof trimming chute, consider factors such as the size of your animals, ease of use, durability, safety features, and Canadian made. It’s important to choose a chute that fits your specific requirements and provides a comfortable environment for both the animal and the operator.

The frequency of hoof trimming depends on various factors, such as the cow’s age, breed, and environment. In general, it is recommended to trim hooves every 4 to 6 months to prevent overgrowth and maintain optimal hoof health. Consult with a veterinarian or dairy herd specialist for personalized recommendations.
